Why Invitation-Only?
Lutheran Network is not a public social platform. It exists to serve a specific community — confessional Lutherans who want to engage seriously in life together and those who come alongside in fellowship. Keeping registration invitation-based means the network grows through genuine relationships. This works to preserve the trust and character of the community. Think of it less like signing up for a service and more like being welcomed into a gathering.
What to Do If You Don't Have an Invite
If you don't know anyone already on the network, email invite@lutheran.network and briefly introduce yourself. We’ll follow up with an invite.
Walking Through the Registration Form
- Open your invite link in a browser. If you received a direct invite URL, your invite code will be pre-filled.
- Choose a username. This is how others will find and mention you on the network.
- Enter your email address.
- Create a secure password.
- Review and complete the confessional assent (see below).
- Submit the form.
The Confessional Assent — What It Means and Why It Matters
During registration, you'll be asked to affirm belief in the Triune God and the authority of Holy Scripture as the written Word of God. This isn't a doctrinal exam — it's a simple statement of shared ground that makes honest theological conversation possible.
Lutheran Network exists in the tradition of confessional Lutheranism, which takes Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions seriously as the norm and guide for Christian faith and life. The assent reflects that orientation.
Do I have to be Lutheran?
No. You do not need to be a Lutheran to join. We do, however, ask that you assent to the following when creating an account: belief in the Triune God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; affirmation of the Holy Scriptures as the inspired and authoritative Word of God; holding the Lutheran Confessions in esteem; and a commitment to conduct yourself in a way that honors Christ and builds up the fellowship.
We acknowledge that both confessing Lutherans and those seeking to learn about our common Lutheran confession will benefit from this community. We don't explicitly require agreement with every point of the Lutheran Confessions, but we do ask that you honor, respect, and be open to learning from those confessions and from those professing them.
